Jeanne Tassinari called the meeting to order at 1:08 PM.
93 members were in attendance.
OFFICERS’
Reports
President
Jeanne Tassinari explained the allocation of $1300 for Holiday
Town decorations.
The original 2010/2011 budget allocated $1000 for this
item.
It was approved by the Board in May, 2010 and presented
to and approved by the general membership at the June 1, 2010
meeting.
The Executive Board approved a $300 increase in response
to a request from the Chamber of Commerce liaisons.
See By – Laws, Article VI, Section 1.a (page 48).
There were a few questions but all were answered
satisfactorily.
Jeanne further stated that we were “not throwing out the
artificial wreaths”. She
encouraged members to address any unanswered questions to her.
Jeanne announced the 2 Board members of the Nominating Committee
were Nancy Atkinson and Laurel Ferry.
She asked for a nomination from the general membership.
Sue Mills nominated Dottie Miller.
The nomination was seconded and approved by a voice vote.
Secretary’s
Report of the September 7 meeting had been distributed by email.
It was accepted for file.
Treasurer’s
Report for the period ending September 30, 2010 had been
distributed by email.
It was accepted for file (copy attached).
COMMITTEE
REPORTS
A
copy of the 2010 Scholarship Committee report was available.
It will be attached to the minutes of this meeting for
file. No other
formal reports were given.
Updates and/or reviews of activities were provided by the

UNFINISHED
BUSINESS
The
Pilgrim Church is planning to purchase padded chairs for
Monbleau Hall. There
was a question from the floor as to whether the Garden Club
would contribute to this project. The Board had discussed this.
The minutes will be checked for the outcome before the
next open meeting. We
do pay $120 per month to rent the hall.
NEW
BUSINESS
Ruth
Alberding made an announcement on behalf of the Harwich
Women’s Club.
ANNOUCEMENTS
Family
Pantry volunteers picked up the food, clothing and cash
donations brought to the meeting by members.
The meeting adjourned at 1:42 PM.
