::... Wednesday May 19th

Fred Allen, at 6 Sweet Fern Lane, North Harwich, will open his garden from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Visit Fred's garden with an Asian flair and view his collection of blooming azaleas and rhododendrons. He may have mini hostas available for purchase.

"... Some time in Late May or early June

Visit Diane Schoenfelder at 27 Cahoon Road in Harwich to see hundreds of wild lady slippers blooming in an acre of undisturbed woods behind her house. The exact day and time will be sent out to all club members as an email message once they begin blooming.

"... Monday June 21st

Three separate gardens open up from East Harwich to West Harwich. Delena Previd, 86 Captain Bearse Lane, East Harwich, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Susan Pleines, 47 John Joseph Road, Harwich from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Barbara Roessner, 66 Chase Road, West Harwich, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Delena has an outstanding collection of bearded iris and a beautifully landscaped lot with many stone features. Susan has worked diligently making many changes to an older existing garden. She has replaced three shrub hedges and added hundreds of perennials. Barbara maintains the largest property on our tours and her gardens sit along the Herring River. She has many peonies and hydrangeas.

::... Tuesday June 29th

From 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., Audrey Osborn will open her rose garden at 12 Scotch Pine Farm, East Harwich. Audrey and her husband, Ozzie, are master rosarians and members of several rose societies. There will be hundreds of rose bushes in bloom.

"... Tuesday July 6th

From 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. you are invited to visit Jeanne Tassinari's garden at 20 Old Carriage Drive, East Harwich. Jeanne draws inspiration from her flowers for the lovely pictures she paints and sells in local art shows.

"...Monday July 12th

Two neighbors invite you to visit their gardens from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Karen Lima lives at 7 Eagle's Nest Road and Sharon Oudemool lives at 148 Kendrick Road, both in East Harwich. Karen has a steep bank in her back yard that has been turned into a wonderful cascade of water that recirculates through a huge koi pond. Sharon has many shrubs and perennials, including day lilies, which should be in bloom.

"..Friday July 16th

Dan Pessoni's AHS day lily display garden will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. He lives at 4 Driftwood Lane, on the corner with Tonset Road in East Orleans. There may be the opportunity to order plants from his overstock.

::.. Wednesday August 11th

There will be two open gardens. Pattie Tworek, 8 Joe Lincoln Road, West Harwich and Dianne Payne, 57 Schooner Drive, Harwich Port, will open their gardens from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Pattie says her garden is a work in progress, but many of us feel the same. She has many succulents which will hopefully be blooming in mid-August. Dianne has a wide variety of plants, such as double file viburnums, various herbs and many beautiful annuals.
